Executive Director
Barry O. Brinkley
Barry Brinkley brings over 20 years of experience in education and nonprofit leadership to CASA DC. He has led initiatives at Reading Partners, DC Prep, and College Track, with a focus on educational equity, mentorship, and supporting first-generation college students. A former 4th-grade teacher in Compton, Barry holds degrees from UNC–Chapel Hill and Loyola Marymount University. He also serves on Teach For America’s National Advisory Board of The
Collective.

Director of Finance and Operations
Jessica Hyland
Jessica is proud to be part of the CASA DC team after 10 years of fundraising and bookkeeping on the campaign trail. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Sociology from Stockton University and having interned throughout high school and college for several child welfare nonprofits, Jessica is thrilled to be returning to her passion and using her decade of finance and compliance experience to support CASA DC’s mission.

Director of Programs
Maddlyn Sivilli
Maddlyn Sivilli is a mission-driven leader with over a decade of experience in education and program development. As Director of Programs at CASA DC, she leads initiatives for foster and justice-involved youth. Her background includes designing inclusive learning strategies, scaling programs for remote teams, and advancing equity. A former Teach For America corps member and Fulbright Fellow, Maddlyn holds degrees from Johns Hopkins University and Davidson College.

Program Manager, BRIDGES
Kayla Davies
Kayla Davies is a strategic leader with over six years of experiences at the intersection of mental health, justice, and public safety. She currently serves as the BRIDGES Program Manager and has been supporting the BRIDGES Program in various roles since 2022. She holds a Master of Forensic Psychology from George Washington University, and focuses on juvenile-justice advocacy and is passionate about ensuring youth have the resources needed to thrive.​

Multicultural Advocacy Program (MAPS)
Sandra Zuro
Sandra Zuro has a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Virginia. She worked as a Qualified Mental Health Professional in Virginia, where she found her passion for trauma-informed care and advocating for youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. At CASA DC, she specializes in working with Unaccompanied Refugee Minor youth and manages the MAP Program. Passionate about amplifying the child’s voice, she strives to advocate for families navigating the child welfare system.

CASA Supervisor, Empower
Kyla Woods
Kyla Woods is a passionate youth justice practitioner, policy advisor, advocate, and organizer operating out of Washington, DC. A graduate of Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy with a Master of Policy Management, she leverages over eight years of experience in leading and managing policy and human service initiatives. Kyla’s background includes developing crucial programming to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) and addressing systemic inequities in mental health access, juvenile justice, and housing.

Family Treatment Court (FTC)
James Fleming, Jr.
James Fleming, MS has an extensive background working with youth and substance-abusing caretakers. He has spent over 20 years advocating, mentoring, and educating a generation of children from marginalized communities as a general education teacher and youth mentor.

Zoe Smith
Zoe is a trained volunteer trainer who has their BA in Justice and Law from American University. They spent their senior year interning with CASA and the BRIDGES program. She is excited to support volunteers and serve her community!

Programs & Communications Coordinator
Tynesha M. North
Tynesha holds a BA in Anthropology and a Higher Diploma in Social Policy. As an AmeriCorps volunteer, she supported K–3 students in literacy, sparking a passion for youth advocacy. Her community work includes mentoring youth and helping school volunteers develop professional and networking skills. She is especially interested in culturally mindful policies and looks forward to deepening her work in community support and advocacy.
