Seetal Parikh-Chopra, PhD

Seetal Parikh-Chopra, PhD has a Masters in Counseling and a PhD in International Psychology and has worked at CASA for Children of DC for over thirteen years. Seetal has extensive experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of non-profit organizations. Seetal has recently focused her skills and knowledge on collecting data for CASA for Children of DC and understanding the program’s influence in working with abused and neglected children in the foster care system.
Given her interest in the mental health field, Seetal served as a Board Member for National Alliance Mental Illness (NAMI) DC. In addition, her dissertation research topic Transgender Minority Stress and Mental Health Outcomes Among the Hijras in India, won second place at the Graduate Research Forum at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2016, and she presented her research at the Association for Psychological Science Convention in May 2019. Seetal is passionate about changing the lives of young people across multiple communities on a local and global level.
Outside of the office Seetal loves to spend time with her family, meditate, listen to a number of podcasts, and uses her creativity to come up with new ways to help people.
