CASA for Children of DC is a leading voice in advocacy for court-involved youth in the District of Columbia. CASA DC connects specially trained volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates to support vulnerable and at-risk youth in foster care and the juvenile justice system. CASA volunteers develop a mentor-like relationship with their youth and advocate for their youth’s best interests in Court, promoting greater outcomes and the opportunity to thrive. The agency is organized as a charitable corporation under the not-for-profit laws of the District of Columbia. Position Overview

We are looking for highly motivated interns to join the CASA DC team for the summer of 2020. These outstanding individuals will support a team at the CASA DC office over the course of approximately eight to ten weeks, running from June through August. Specific timing is flexible based on team assignment and individual time constraints. In addition to working on a specific project or set of projects within a functional team, interns will have the opportunity to engage with one another and senior staff through meetings.  CASA DC Interns will report to the Senior Manager, Data & Assessments.



  • Performing aggregation of data (i.e., monthly, quarterly surveys)

  • Assist with interpreting quantitative and qualitative data

  • Assist with interpreting data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

  • Assist with developing reports for distribution to stakeholders

  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests for grant reporting and other uses

  • Assist with facilitating focus groups with CASA volunteers

  • Bi-Weekly meetings with Senior Manager and team to discuss, brainstorm, and analyze data

  • Assist with data visualization 



  • Knowledge of CRM systems, experience with Salesforce is a plus

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Power Point

  • Experience with analytical tools, such as Tableau, is a plus

  • Professional etiquette

  • Detail oriented with a high degree of quality, accuracy, and time management

  • Effectively collaborate in a team environment
