Courtney Gutierrez, MA
Courtney Gutierrez is the Volunteer Manager for CASA for Children of DC. Courtney graduated from Arizona State University with her Master of Arts in Social Justice and Human Rights, and attended Northern Arizona University where she earned a dual degree in Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice. While at ASU, Courtney took part in an internship in Athens, Greece that focused on the experiences of refugee and asylum seekers, especially those of unaccompanied minors. Courtney has also worked as a youth service specialist, providing socio-emotional support and substance abuse counseling to youth and served on the board of a teen center, while also providing mentorship to the teen center participants, in Santa Barbara, CA. Most recently having been a case manager in the Phoenix Metro area, Courtney is passionate about positive youth development and facilitating access to resources among underserved communities.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys traveling, being active outdoors with her dogs, and being trained in the art of flamenco.
